First and foremost a review of this particular track and its relation to the great,late, Cliff Burton.

This particular instrumental track comes from Metallica's 4th album after having gone through tough times two years earlier from Burton's death.
One can notice that it is the tradition of Metallica having instrumental songs since their first album while Burton is still with them
Sadly,this was to be their last, as ever since,Metallica themselves have not penned any instrumentals after Burton's death.
From their first album,Burton has been co-writing some strong tracks and this one in particular.
There is an eerie feeling hearing it as this instrumental has the only one that has lyrics written by Burton in which it is being spoken by Hetfield midway through and the contents itself show how relevant it is to us..the living.
'Tallica diehards will be able to recognize the midsection guitar riff which later resurface on the next album,in one of their "hit" ballads..(you will be able to know which track I am referring to..), which they ironically called it the "Black" album.
Well,a black album it sure is and the "Tallica boys seemed to have not recovered ever since they lost their talismanic bass player.

Myself and the other fans would wish and hope that their upcoming new album,out next year (22 years after Burton's death) will do justice(for all)..(pun unintentional) for us diehards and for Cliff Burton himself..an album that he would at least be proud of..Rest In Peace..Cliff Burton..

p.s. take note that this track is the longest on the album,clocking in at 9:48 and even then it is just an instrumental..

Mael first made his debut in the music arena in the late 80’s with hard rock outfit XPDC. XPDC’s album’s went multi-platinum as their fans themed in the thousands. Mael however created controversy in 1998 when he suddenly left the band and went on to create Real X.
Real X’s maiden entry into the local music industry was unjustly criticized and later divided the former band’s overzealous fans into two groups.
Real X later turned out to be an overnight sensation as the band was welcomed whole-heartedly by Mael’s die-hard fans. But all that lies in history as we move forward to welcome Mael as a solo artist in the year 2006.
Mael’s debut solo album resembles yet another stepping stone for him in his music career as he leaves his safety blanket behind and steps out into the arena alone. The album entitled ‘Lain Hidup” or loosely translated as ‘A Different Life’ is also a tribute to the late J. S. Kevin. 8 of the songs on the album were all written by J. S Kevin. All these 8 songs were hit singles that were once made popular by XPDC, Wings and Bumiputra Rockers. The album also includes 2 new songs that were also written by J. S. Kevin just before he passed away, hence those songs never saw the light of day until now.
It took 8 months to wrap up the entire album. But those 8 months were worth the wait. The album which is already available in all record stores will be the pacifier that Mael’s fans have been waiting for all these silent years.

Allahyarham Zul Adnan Mohd Razalli atau lebih dikenal dengan nama penanya J.S Kevin adalah seorang penerbit album, pencipta / penggubah lagu dan penulis lirik. Semasa hayatnya, beliau juga adalah seorang residen komposer di 'Goodsound Music Publishing' dan juga pernah menjadi ahli kanan di 'Malaysia Authors Copyright Protection (MACP).

Antara artis yang pernah menggunakan khidmat beliau seperti XPDC, Bumiputera Rockers (BPR), Wings, Hattan, May, Def Gab C dan ramai lagi. Hasil kreativiti beliau juga telah meletakkan nama XPDC cukup disegani satu masa dahulu. Namun.. Tuhan yang maha pengasih dan peyayang lebih menyayangi beliau Pada tanggal 8hb Ogos 2002, J.S Kevin/Zul Adnan Mohd Razalli telah menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir pada usia 42 tahun akibat serangan angina ahmar dan paru-paru berair. Industri muzik tanahair kehilangan seorang insan yang cukup kreatif dan berbakat.

Semasa hayatnya, beliau bercita-cita merakamkan lagu - lagu ciptaannya di dalam beberapa buah album yang diberi tajuk J.S Kevin Unrecorded Masterpiece dan menubuhkan sebuah kumpulan muzik yang diberi nama WorldPrince. Namun sayang ianya tidak kesampaian. Pada tanggal 9hb Ogos 2002, J.S Kevin / Zul Adnan Mohd Razalli telah menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir pada usia 42 tahun akibat serangan angin ahmar dan paru-paru berair.

Bertolak belakang dari situ, Life Records telah mengambil inisiatif untuk menerbitkan sebuah album tribute kepada J.S Kevin. Daripada 10 buah lagu, 9 buah lagu adalah lagu baru hasil karya J.S Kevin, atau Zul Adnan Mohd Razalli. Manakala sebuah lagu adalah lagu lama yang dirakamkan semula iaitu lagu tema album ini - TANGISAN DI GELANGGANG FANA. Lagu ini pernah dipopularkan oleh kumpulan MENTOR, dari album berjudul IDOLA (Life Records) pada tahun 1997. Lagu ini digubah oleh saudara HARON BPR manakala liriknya adalah nukilan saudara ABDULLAH ROMANY.
